“Friends with Classic Cars,” the Last Hurrah; will happen October 16 & 17, 2021, from noon-7:00 p.m. This event will bring together scores of vintage vehicles built between 1907 and 1991. Owners will have an opportunity to reminisce about times gone bye and network with those who like collecting antique auto-cars. There will be Merchandise Vendors, Food Trucks and this year something new.
The Cavalcade of Classic Cars is a new additional to this event. Ten o'clock a.m., Saturday October 16th owners will gather their vehicles at the Northwest Campus of Wayne County Community College. The college is located at W. Outer Drive and Southfield Freeway. Beginning at 10:30 a.m. these vehicles will travel in chronological order, through the historic and picturesque neighborhoods of North Rosedale, Rosedale Park, Grandmont and Minock Park. The four mile journey is expected to take about forty minutes, ending at the New Etheldra Mae Williams’ Park.
In this park, located at 14300 Burgess Street corner of Acacia, participants can share their love for all things "Classic Automobiles." We will have a retro campsite complete with bonfire, folks dressed in period clothing and fun for whole family.
The show is free to the public. Owners of any restored vehicle older than 1991 are welcome to display. Past shows have had in attendance a 1941 Lincoln from the Ford Family, 1962 Cobra that was completely restored plus Model T’s and Model A’s from the 1900 through 1920’s and of course, classic muscle cars. On hand will be a 1926 Model “M” from the Faygo Beverage Company and many more historic vehicles.
