James W. Brogdon, Jr.

July 30, 1930

A Detroiter since the age of 7 when his parents moved him here from Asheville, NC. He was raised by his uncle and aunt who instilled in him a desire to excel in school and be an honest, caring, successful adult. He graduated from Detroit Northwestern High School with honors, then attended Wayne State University obtaining a Bachelor's and Master's degree in social work. His work career was highlighted by many positions with the State of Michigan in the Department of Social Services.  He met his betrothed, Johnnie K.
